The Yoga of Discriminating the Field and the Knower of the Field
kṣetra-kṣetrajña-vibhāga-yoga
When he sees the various states of beings
Abiding in the One and refracting out from it,
Then he attains Brahman.
yadā bhiūtapṛthagbhāvam
when being-various-states
ekastham anupaśyati
resting in one he perceives,
tata leva ca vistāram
and from that alone spreading out
brahma sampadyate tadā
Brahman he attains then.
When he perceives the various states of being
As resting in the One,
And from That alone spreading out,
Then he attains Brahman.
At the thick-haired Arjuna’s command, the bristling-haired Krishna brought the principal chariot to a stop between the two armies— in front of Bhishma, Drona, and all of these sovereigns of the world.

“Look, Arjuna. From here you can see
all the Kurus who are gathered to do battle.
At Guḍākeśa’s words, O Bhārata, Hṛṣīkeśa stationed the fine chariot between the two armies, before Bhīṣma, Droṇa and all the kings, and he said to the Pārtha, “Behold the Kurus assembled!”

“Arjuna, behold all the Kurus gathered together.”
yadā, when.
bhiūtapṛthagbhāvam (m. acc. sg.), various states of being, multiple states of being.
ekastham (m. acc. sg.), resting in one, abiding in one.
anupaśyati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. anu √paś), he perceives, he discerns, he sees.

brahma (n. acc. sg.), Brahman.
