The Yoga of Discriminating the Field and the Knower of the Field
kṣetra-kṣetrajña-vibhāga-yoga
Constancy in knowledge of the self,
Vision of the purpose of essential knowledge:
This is declared to be wisdom,
And whatever is other than this, is non-knowledge.
adhyātmajñānanityatvam
Supreme-Spirit-knowledge-constancy,
tattvajñānārthadarśanam
truth-knowledge-goa I-observing,
etaj jñānam iti proktam
this knowledge thus, declared to be.
ajñānam yad ato ‘nyathā
ignorance which to this contrary.
Constancy in knowledge of the supreme Spirit,
Observing the goal of knowledge of the truth;
This is declared to be true knowledge. Ignorance is what is contrary to this.
At the thick-haired Arjuna’s command, the bristling-haired Krishna brought the principal chariot to a stop between the two armies— in front of Bhishma, Drona, and all of these sovereigns of the world.

the other great kings, he said:
“Look, Arjuna. From here you can see
all the Kurus who are gathered to do battle.
At Guḍākeśa’s words, O Bhārata, Hṛṣīkeśa stationed the fine chariot between the two armies, before Bhīṣma, Droṇa and all the kings, and he said to the Pārtha, “Behold the Kurus assembled!”

“Arjuna, behold all the Kurus gathered together.”
adhyātmajñāna (n.), knowledge of the Supreme Spirit, knowledge of the Supreme Self.
nityatvam (n. nom. sg.), constancy, continualness, perpetualness.

tattva (n.), “thatness,” truth.
jñāna (n.), knowledge, wisdom.
artha (m.!n.), goal, object, purpose.
darśanam (n. nom. sg. pr. participle √drs), observing, seeing, keeping in sight.

etad (n. nom. sg.), this.
jñānam (n. nom. sg.), knowledge.

proktam (n. nom. sg. p. pass. participle pra √vac), said to be, called, declared to be.
ajñānam (n. nom. sg.), ignorance, absence of knowledge.
yad (n. nom. sg.), which, what.
alas, from this, to this.
anyathā, contrary, not in which way, otherwise.
